Legislation

In order to remain efficient and compliant, large-scale storage facilities require regular cleaning on tanks/vessels/silos/interceptors which involves the removal of waste product or sludge.

A confined space refers to any place, including chamber, tank, vat, silo, pit, trench, pipe, well, flue, sewer or other similar space in which by virtue of its enclosed nature, there arises a reasonably foreseeable, specified risk to human safety.

Tanks in these storage facilities are classified as ‘confined spaces’ and any human entry to clean them represents a risk to life, even when the operatives are fully trained and appropriately protected.

Health and safety legislation currently stipulates that “a person shall not carry out work in confined spaces if it is reasonably practical that it could be avoided.” Re-Gen Robotic’s cleaning services removes the need for any human exposure to potentially harmful materials, fumes or gases, by remotely removing and transporting all waste to an ADR certified jet/vac tanker.
